Swaroop Khan Mangniyar was born and raised in Baiyan Village in India’s Golden City, Jaisalmer, Rajasthan on 6th August, 1991. He hails from a family where music runs in their blood from generations and generations. Due to his upbringing in a music environment he continued the legacy and started singing at an early age of 5yrs with his Father Mr. Niyaz Khan and Uncle Mr. Anwar Khan in their folk group, where he also mastered musical instruments Khartal and Morchang.
It was his immense love and dedication towards music which lead him enter Sony’s INDIAN IDOL Season 5 where he won over millions and millions hearts of fans as well as the JUDGES of the reality show. His art of singing folk music was widely appreciated all across the world. He scored 4th runner up of Indian Idol Season 5.
During his early age he acted as a child artist in a movie MILK & OPIUM (Dhoodh aur Apheem) by Joel Palombo’s. The movie was “Nominated for Friedens (Peace) Film Award at BERLIN INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL”.
And Swaroop Khan was Awarded with “Best Male Actor at BROOKLYN INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL”.
Swaroop Khan got his first break playback singing title track “Emotional Atyachaar” by Bappi Lahri for the 2010 Film Emotional Atayachar.
Later he was given an opportunity by Composer/Music Director Salim Sulaiman to sing an ALAAP in the Remix version of the popular song JUDAS – The Desi Remix by Lady Gaga. This proved to be milestone in the career of Swaroop Khan.
Then he sang “Shahar Mumbai Hai “ for a 2012 Movie Overtime, directed by Ajay Yadav.
He also sang the ALAAP for the song Mitwa by Maati Bani. He recently did playback for the film ”ATA PATA LAPATA”.
He is a complete music enthusiast and has performed in various live show around the world and doing playback singing in Bollywood.
